Monty Roberts

Growing up in a house on the rodeo grounds in Salinas, Ca. Monty Roberts learned early of the beauty and courage of horses. He realized that he had a unique gift - the ability to understand the language of the horse.

Now known internationally for his books such as 'The Horse Whisperer' & his famous traveling show where he demonstrates his techniques, Monty lives his belief that it's never right to use violence with an animal. He does not 'break' horses, he teaches them to trust him  using his technique known as 'Join Up'. He uses his gift to take horses that were considered worthless and turns them into useful mounts - thus providing years of pleasure for both animal and owner. He has used this gift not only with pleasure horses but worked for 18 years sucessfully training 2 year olds at Santa Anita.

Monty now works with several world class racehorses including his own World Series contender Sabiango. One can only wonder how some of the supposedly incorrigible horses of the past would have fared in Monty Roberts hands.
